Sample Policy

The (library name) web site is an online source of information for library staff and patrons. The library web site includes a limited number of links to other web sites chosen for their usefulness to library staff in answering patron questions. Library staff have selected these web sites to enrich, broaden, and complement the library’s collection of print, online, and audiovisual materials, in compliance with the library's Collection Development Policy. Criteria include currency, authority, organization and accessibility.

Resources are constantly changing on the Internet. Because these linked sites are not under the library’s control, they may change or disappear over time. The library may add or remove links based on the Collection Development Policy criteria. Links to web sites are not added upon request. It is not intended that the listing of sites open up the library’s web pages as a full or partial public forum.
