MeL Workshops
Michigan eLibrary (MeL) Project Information and Services for Michigan Library Staff.
Contact MLC staff for more information.
Hands-on training in the Michigan eLibrary (MeL) Databases is available for library staff in the state of Michigan free of charge. Classes are offered in locations throughout the state. Host libraries simply need to provide a computer lab with Internet connection for each participant and a projector for the instructor's station. Minimum class size is 8; maximum class size is 20. Libraries may combine staff to schedule classes.
Participants in these classes can receive FREE CEU certificates recognized by the Library of Michigan. The host library must provide a sign in sheet which the trainer will submit to MLC. This is a sample sheet showing the required information.
To schedule a class to be taught in your library, REMC, or Cooperative, please contact MLC.
NOTE: if your training lab is IP-authenticated for MeL Database access and you would like to show your patrons how to authenticate at home via drivers license, click here to view a PowerPoint showing drivers license authentication.
MeL is a project of the Library of Michigan, an agency of the state government. The Library of Michigan contracts with MLC and partners with a number of Michigan organizations and institutions to provide MeL services.
This project is made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the State of Michigan through the Library of Michigan.
