RSS Feeds at MCLS
RSS feeds are available for some MCLS Publications. To add them to your RSS reader, copy the link locations from these links:
What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is technology that allows users to subscribe to web sites that provide an RSS feed for the content published on the site.
Many web sites syndicate or publish their content via RSS feeds. This is often available on rapidly changing web sites, such as news sites and blogs. To view an RSS feed, you will need either to register with an RSS service like Bloglines or install an RSS client program (reader) on your computer. An RSS reader allows you to subscribe to the RSS feeds that you want to read, and then interprets and displays the content for you. This allows you to select and view sites that are of interest to you and view them conveniently all in one place. This saves the time-consuming task of searching widely on the web or clicking to many sites to find what you want.
For a listing of many popular news reader client programs, see: http://blogspace.com/rss/readers
To learn more about RSS, read this article at http://channels.lockergnome.com/rss/resources/articles/quickstart.phtml
For more in-depth information about RSS, sign up for MCLS's class "RSS for Beginners". Partner that class with MCLS's "Blogging for Libraries" class and you will be ready to create your own blog, syndicate it through RSS, and provide your library services through another avenue on the web! See MCLS Workshops & Events for details and upcoming class dates.
